Mental and Physical Challenge

The Marka Valley is in Ladakh, a district of Jammu & Kashmir in northern India.

At altitudes of 3500 to 4500 meters it's a one-week long trek with a difference. Daytime temperatures of 35 degrees and higher. At night it drops to minus 15 if you're unlucky.

It's high altitude desert, so no humidity. Altitude sickness is the real challenge. A supported trek, with ponies, is the way forward. Unless you're a risktaker...
